How do you source horses for clients?
We have many sources for finding horses to purchase for clients. We have an extensive network of trainers, dealers, etc. from a combined 50+ years of buying and selling horses of all kinds. We also value horse shows as great trial locales due to the immediate visibility and regulated medication rules. We never rule out the online listings.
What criteria do you use to select horses for sale or import?
It depends on the client and their ability/needs but in general terms the horses we select need to enjoy their job, need to be safe and have the heart to try their best for their potential new owner. Ability and safety are of the utmost priority versus looks. Pretty is as pretty does.
What is your experience with importing successful showjumping horses?
We have had great success with imports from all over Europe and Canada. In addition to sourcing horses for clients on international buying trips, we’ve also had investors and partners send us horses from Europe to develop and sell on their behalf. We have steadily built a reliable network of international contacts year after year.
What testing or health checks do you perform before importing a horse?
We always have any horse we are purchasing vetted by a trusted veterinarian. As for the international purchases, to guarantee full transparency, European veterinarians have provided us with videoed flexions and X-rays, while working closely with our trusted veterinarian, safeguarding against any foul play. This gives everyone on the purchasing side peace of mind.
Do you use written contracts for purchases/sales?
Yes, we absolutely use written contracts for purchases, sales, leases, etc. to ensure our client, and the horse, on either end is protected.
